We're excited to bring back the Rose Bowl Rush,
an unforgettable kids run that finishes on the field at the Rose Bowl!

ROSE BOWL RUSH FINAL INSTRUCTIONS 2019

When: Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.

Where: The kids run will start at the half marathon start line and finish on the field of the world famous Rose Bowl. The distance is approximately 400 meters or 0.25 miles.

Age Requirement: Recommended for children between 3-8 years old

Instructions for Parents

Each child will be given a participant bib that must be pinned to their clothing. There will be a matching “parent bib” for the parent to either wear or hold onto to pickup their child at the finish.

Parents may run with their child but must wear their “parent bib” to be permitted into the start corral. Parents not running with a child will be reunited with their child after showing their matching parent bib.

OTHER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: while the course is fenced in and we will have staff and volunteers monitoring the course and reunification area, this is a point to point course and sometimes kids and parents get separated. Take time before the run to discuss your plan and meeting location with your child. Write your cell number on the back of your child's bib. If you need help finding each other, come to the announcers stage or locate a staff person. Please note that parents must reunite with their children at the finish line.

ROSE BOWL RUSH FAQ

The course is approximately 1/4 mile
It will start at the main start line
The Rose Bowl Rush finishes at the main finish line on the Rose Bowl Field.
The Rose Bowl Rush starts at 10:30 AM with the first wave. Kids can start lining up at 10:00 AM for warm ups and announcements.
Children will be sent out in waves by age group - oldest in front, youngest in back – every 5 minutes. We will have 3 waves of 50-75 kids each. Wave 1 is for children 7-8 years old. Wave 2 is for children 5-6 years old. Wave 3 is for children 4 and under. By sending the kids in groups by age, we make it a more safe and fun experience. Parents are encouraged to run with children 6 and under.
They are welcome to run in the same wave together - it's up to you as the parent to decide which is the more appropriate wave. Children with less running experience will likely feel more comfortable with a younger age group that is a bit slower.
We love when parents run with their kids, especially with children 6 years and under. Please wear your “Parent Bib” when on the course.
If your child is older and feels comfortable running alone, you may choose to meet them at the finish line. Once you have situated your child in the start corral, meet up with our “Parent Escort” at the start line. The Parent Escort will leave PROMPTLY at 10:15am and will walk along the ¼ mile course to the finish line. This is the most direct way to the finish line for spectators. Those who do not join the Parent Escort should plan to run with their child.
Once your child has crossed the finish line they will be directed into the Kids Reunion Corral next to the finish line. This is where spectating parents may reunite with their children.
